Scripture to pray

Bible Verses About Salvation

The good news is simple enough for a child and deep enough for a lifetime.

Below are 8 verses for salvation. Read each one slowly, then use the short note under it to turn the verse into a prayer. You do not need special words. Just be honest with God.

  1. John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

How to pray it: Put your own name in place of "the world" and thank God for His love.

  2. Romans 3:23

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

How to pray it: Admit honestly to God that you need a Savior.

  3. Romans 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

How to pray it: Ask God for the free gift, knowing you cannot earn it.

  4. Romans 5:8

“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

How to pray it: Thank Jesus that He did not wait for you to be good enough.

  5. Romans 10:9

“If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

How to pray it: Say out loud, "Jesus is Lord," and tell God you believe He raised Jesus from the dead.

  6. Ephesians 2:8-9

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.”

How to pray it: Stop trying to earn God's love and simply receive His grace.

  7. John 14:6

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’”

How to pray it: Ask Jesus to be your way to the Father.

  8. 2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”

How to pray it: Thank God for the new life He is making in you, starting today.
